Who doesn’t know Apple these days? With their gadgets so handy and too entertainment-oriented, this company sure can’t easily be pulled down.

It’s the same thing with their laptops. Apple is too overwhelmed to produce the self-proclaimed thinnest laptop with 0.76 inches at its thickest. With notebooks that have thin designs, its strength might be questionable. But with MacBook Air, ‘solid’ is just the right word you can attach on as adjective. The build is also clean which is perfect for business executives. And it’s good for OC’s too.

The 13-inch screen display of this thin portable machine is fairly lovely. It can emit vibrant colors and can provide good viewing with in almost all angles, but not on the vertical aspect. A little discoloration is visible when you push the screen too high or pull it too low.

Apple, just like Sony Vaio, it has its label in its keyboard designs. With the MacBook Air, the keyboard design is the same with other Apple laptops. It has slim keypads and a wider gap from key to key making it more prone to discomfort when you are not an Apple fan. However, it has a very spacious touchpad. It has a measure of 4.12 x 2.48 inches. Users believed that this size is uniquely embedded in MacBook Air for the reason that most of its use are for gaming or for entertainment purposes.

Now, for its connectivity, MacBook Air is a little bit off. Maybe because of its thinness, ports are sacrificed to attain the title as the ‘world’s slimmest laptop’. The front and rear of this notebook is bare while on the left side, we can only find the power connector. And on the other side, a headphone jack, single USB port, and mini DVI-Out. Therefore, it doesn’t have FireWire, Ethernet, ExpressCard, SD card ports which are normally found in most notebooks. It doesn’t even have an optical disc and the very basic microphone jack.

Added to its downsides is the mounting heat issue. It has the tendency to heat things up when used continuously. And the very bad news is that the mounting heat is intolerable because the rising temperature can’t only be felt at the bottom but also at the left side of the keyboard.

Now, looking at the bright side, MacBook Air is fast and sufficient. A 2GB of DDR3 RAM with up to 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, it is indeed speedy. Apple is magnificently stable when it comes to performance. In fact, MacBook Air is considered the slowest among Mac’s right now.

About endurance, this notebook can give you a lengthy 5 hours. Fair enough for its heat conductivity. But this battery life is enough for a laid-back administrative tasks.

Therefore, Apple’s MacBook Air can be a good business laptop for its design – it’s sleek and slim. But if you’ll try to flip the coin and see what’s on the other side, then better think twice.

By the way, the not-that-startling starting price is at $1,499.00.
