Defining the Business Objectives and Benefits

Diposting oleh nude nude Jumat, 18 Juni 2010

Question 2: Have you defined and understood the business objectives & benefits?

Good Practice: A Project Definition document should be prepared and formally signed off by the Steering Committee. This document defines the goals, objectives, benefits, deliverables, exclusions, assumptions, business sponsors, responsibilities, estimated costs, timescale and serves the following purposes:

  1. Clearly defines the objectives and scope of the project.
  2. Provides management and team members with a common view and clear understanding.
  3. Provides a good starting point for the subsequent definition of more detailed documents, for example Project Plan, Project Budget, and Functional Requirements Specification.

Common Mistakes

  • A common mistake is to start focusing on solutions, how to achieve something, before gaining a clear understanding of the business objectives that you want to achieve and identifying the business sponsors needed to help achieve these objectives.
  • Not returning to the Benefits Statement during the course of the project to make sure they are still valid and achievable.

Notes: "The number of projects that set out confidently with little or no idea of what they are supposed to achieve is truly astounding."

"Some projects start out with a clear idea, but loose track of it by the time they're 20% into the project."

"Many proud, objective-orientated managers have a list of goals that are, on closer inspection, technology driven, and not business driven. They are headed for a 'successful' project whose results will never be used."

"Keep in mind that the aim of a project is 'results delivery' not, as is often the case, 'construction activity'. This means thinking about the products that the project is in business to deliver."

That success was a bad teacher

Robert T. Kiyosaki in his book "Cash Flow Quadrant" argues that success is actually a bad teacher. But it applies to ourselves. That is, as an entrepreneur, we really should not sit on our own success. Therefore, it will make us become less enthusiastic, be creative, make us complacent or arrogant, make us forget ourselves, not even close the possibility of success we achieve will be a boomerang for ourselves. That success was, in my opinion, does not mean "time to enjoy."

Indeed, the success we were able to plunge us. Moreover, if we are too proud of that success, will make us forget ourselves. Therefore, in order that success is not a boomerang for ourselves, then we must be very clever indeed manage success. But, of course, other people could learn from our successes.

That's okay. In fact, it can make one's business success. Because, basically learning from the success of others is legitimate. In short, if someone learns the success of others, it can indeed be a good teacher. Although we really can learn a lot in people who fail. In this context, I think, so that we remain lasting business can grow even better in the future, sometimes we have to realize this. Or rather, as an entrepreneur should be more considered, that the failure was actually the best lesson. Therefore, I think we should be not too fearful of failure. We learn the most about ourselves when it fails, do not be afraid to fail. For this failure is actually a process we are to be successful, I believe, whose name was not really an entrepreneur can succeed without fail.

Therefore, when we want to start a business or in business when we started to grow, but then suddenly go bankrupt or suffer a failure, I think it makes us not be discouraged. Precisely, that's when our entrepreneurial spirit to get back up. Because, according to my experience and other business associates, a new brand successfully, after they had experienced failure of at least seven times. If we've failed two or three times, I think that it's perfectly natural for an entrepreneur.

Properly, the entrepreneur will never mendapatakan lesson without doing any meaningful steps. Whether it's a step that failed or successful. Steps starting from small steps to big steps. In other words, I say a journey of 1000 km was actually started from a small step. If we do not dare to launch or float the business, or when our business develops. I found this interesting words make us ponder together namely, "Start a stepped not start". That is, those who dare to start or expand a business, it's better than people who did not dare to start or expand a business.

If you want to become a master in a specific area remember these words:

focus on one thing or skill with endless devotion to continue to make improvements, and our desire to be the best. Focus, continuous improvement and a strong desire to be the best is the main fuel to become a specialist. And most large majority of people coming from a specialist.

B.J. Habibie is a specialist in the field of aircraft. Is success purely a gift of nature? Of course the answer is no. The man was born in Pare-Pare did not want to be the best in five different areas. For example, he does not want an expert on trains or vehicles berida four. Former President of Indonesia to the three it just wants a great on the field of aircraft. And he succeeded.

Michael Jordan to focus on basketball. Cristiano Ronaldo's focus on football. Muhammad Yunus focus on microfinance. Bill Gates focused on computer software development, Dedi Mizwar focus on the film. Yusuf Mansur focus on the science of charity. Hermawan Kertajaya focus on the marketing world. They and many others are not breaking the ditekuninya focus. And they succeeded.

Thomas A Edison's 1093 patent register. He also discovered the light bulb to the phonograph. The man who once branded an idiot by his teacher was not trying to be big sellers, the famous poet, and renowned musicians. He just focuses on his findings. He also improve every day. And always encouraged to become great inventors and benefiting the world. Furthermore, he allows time to create a miracle. And it turns out, knocked on the door of success for people who are focused on the field. They are the specialists.

Maybe you remember the story of Pablo Picasso. One day, a woman seen in the market and he took a piece of paper. "Mr Picasso, I'm a fan of you. Would you draw a little for me? "Picasso was pleased to meet demand and carve a form of art on paper provided. Smiling, he returned the paper saying, "The value of this paper could be millions of dollars you know." She was puzzled and said, "But master you only need 30 seconds to produce this masterpiece." Laughing Picasso replied, "I need time 30 in order to produce a masterpiece in 30 seconds. "

Several studies in the science of sleep the last few years failed to show convincing evidence, in assessing the effect of "nap". But with this latest research, proven brain may need sleep for short-term memory process, creating "space" for new facts that must be in the study.
